But do you know what causes a dizi to be canceled or ended "unexpectedly"? Here we will explain to you!
Unlike what happens in other productions around the world, in Turkey, productions are recorded by episode and not by season. This makes it easier to track public acceptance and measure your popularity.
The most important categories for measuring audience are AB, ABC1 and Total.
The AB category accounts for the numbers between the upper and upper-middle class, and who have a better level of education and income. It is considered the main one because it is the public that is more likely to purchase the products advertised at intervals. ABC1 counts the audience of the middle class and lower middle class with medium or low levels of education and income. Total refers to the sum of all classes including the lowest, such as uneducated people, and villagers.
So, like the rest of the world, the audience and the ads that appear at breaks are very important. They are the ones who finance all production costs. And without investment, there is no production, right?
But it is worth remembering that its duration on air will depend on the producer and the broadcaster that airs it. Some, for example, give it one more chance and even with the low audience, choose to change the day of the exhibition, looking for less competition for who knows, to get good numbers. Other broadcasters and producers simply cancel, as was the case with Yeni Hayat, which had only 09 episodes, and Şeref Sözü, which was canceled with only 04 episodes.
And finally, I need to give the bad news that the international audience makes no difference to Turkish productions. So, even if a dizi is a total success in Brazil, it will be canceled if it is a fiasco in Turkey. Which is very unfair, isn't it?
